The Age of Hipster Sexism
Olivia's discovery of "Hipster Sexism"...
According to Alissa Quart: Hipster Sexism consists of the objectification of women but in a manner that uses mockery, quotation marks, and paradox: the stuff you learned about in literature class.
I find this amusing since my literature teacher is rather the feminist, evidenced in her vast array of selected texts ... e.g. A Doll's House, Pride and Prejudice, Lady Windermere's Fan, The Bacchae?!
Furthermore, I found this video engaging and interesting as a female adolescent, who, myself, is moving on to vote next year (Although, in Australia)!
I encourage you to also view the short clip, it's only one minute (oh! and three seconds)!
Attached is a criticism regarding the Obama's campaign technique:

Winona Ryder and Johnny Depp
“i’d die for her. i love her so much. i don’t know what i would do without her. she’s going through a lot right now. i wish i could just kiss away the pain, make it go away, stop it, kill it! if she, you know, (gets teary eyed) i don’t know what i would do. i’d kill myself. i love that girl. i love her. i love her almost more than i love myself” - johnny depp on winona ryder (1989)
“i can’t get him out of my head! it’s like i’m always seeing his image in my head. my life has changed for the better since i’m with johnny. he’s so amazing!” - winona ryder on johnny depp (1989)
“When I met Johnny, I was pure virgin. He changed that. He was my first everything. My first REAL kiss. My first REAL boyfriend. My first fiancee. The first guy I had sex with. So he’ll always be in my heart. Forever. Kind of funny that word.” - Winona Ryder on her relationship with Johnny Depp
